Six Doors is a collection of five moving paintings that start with simple realistic images but quickly morph into mesmerizing abstractions. While Pasquella’s images carry us to someplace far away, Sweidel’s stunning multi-dimensional music adds a breath-taking level of beauty to the journey. In the sixth piece two hand puppets, an orangutan and a kangaroo, meet for dinner in a scene reminiscent of My Dinner with Andre to discuss the meaning of life and death from a strange and funny perspective. The films work both as foreground and background and will grow with you in repeat viewings. I highly recommend these as fantastic adventures -– the Discovery Channel as if artists ran it.
